How to find price errors
A real price error is an item listed far below its normal price by mistake, usually 70% or more. Here's how to spot one, check it in seconds, and avoid wasting money on fake "deals".
Spot it
- Compare against the item's price history (Keepa for Amazon, or the retailer's usual price).
- Ignore inflated "was" prices. Many strikethroughs were never the real price.
- Errors cluster around unit mistakes (a 12-pack priced like a single), wrong decimals and bundle glitches.
Check it fast
- Check eBay sold listings for the same item.
- Run the numbers with our eBay fee calculator.
- Order quickly with saved payment. Don't share the link publicly.
Expect cancellations
Retailers often cancel price-error orders and refund you. Don't plan around the item arriving until it ships.
